Northumbria Police high speed chase though North East Villages- Vote Below

Caught on camera, a road menace raced around a housing estate “like a rally driver”.

Edward Magnus only had a provisional licence and panicked when police tried to pull him over after he went for a “stupid” late-night drive.

He led officers on a high-speed chase for 20 minutes at more than 80mph in 30 and 40 zones, a court heard.

Now, the 27-year-old, never in trouble before, has been spared prison after admitting dangerous driving and related offences.

He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, failing to stop, having no insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and was given eight months suspended for two years with 240 hours of unpaid work, a two-year driving ban and £340 costs.
